Loris Malaguzzi var fram till 1985 chef för den Kommunala barnomsorgen i Reggio Emilio i Italien, efter hans pension var han dess pedagogiska konsult. I spetsten stod Loris Malaguzzi, under många år chef för de kommunala förskolorna i Reggio Emilia. Han har skrivit den berömda dikten "Ett barn har hundra språk".
